The top 24 teams from around the globe collide at the net in the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship in Japan. The tournament will be held from Sept. 29 to Oct. 20. The United States, the defending champions who beat China in the 2014 final in Italy, received an automatic invite to the event along with the host nation. The inaugural event was in 1952. Russia holds the record for the most titles with seven.
