After the weirdest and wildest finish in Kentucky Derby history, one fact is certain - there will not be a Triple Crown winner in 2019. Country House, winner of the Derby following the disqualification of Maximum Security, won’t be racing in the May 18 Preakness Stakes, the second jewel of the Triple Crown. It will be the first time in 23 years that the Derby winner did not race in the Preakness.

Brazil will be the setting for UFC 237, as they take their show to Jeunesse Arena in Rio do Janeiro. Naturally, the main event bouts will feature prominent Brazilian fighters, including the legendary Anderson Silva, who holds the record for the longest reign as world champ in a UFC weight class. Jessica Andrade will challenge for the women's world strawweight belt and three-time UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo is also on the card.

Contested on the first Saturday in May, the one and a quarter mile race at Churchill Downs has been held every year since 1875 and is the first leg of thoroughbred horse racing's Triple Crown. A record 170,513 attended the Derby in 2015.

Yet both of these teams are on the brink of advancing to the second round of the 2019 Stanley Cup playoffs. The Blue Jackets lead the Presidents' Trophy-winning Tampa Bay Lightning 3-0, and the Isles are up 3-0 on the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The official name of the race is the Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas, but in point of reality over the years it has proven to be the Mark Marquez Invitiational. They've held six MotoGP Grand Prix of the Americas since 2013 and the Spanish rider has captured every one of them on his Honda. Last year, Marquez also won the pole position and turned the race's fastest lap.

The Masters is unique among golf's four majors in that it is the only one held at the same course every year, Georgia's famous Augusta National layout. Another unique trait to the Masters is that the champion is awarded a green jacket and must return the jacket at the end of their year's reign as champion. Even if they go on to be multiple winners of the tournament, they get the same jacket.

Each spring, 16 of the NHL's 31 teams are left standing and set off in pursuit of the coveted Lord Stanley's mug. In 1893, Lord Stanley of Preston, then Governor-General of Canada, donated a cup to be presented to the champions of hockey. It's been the sole property of the NHL since 1926.
