English Premier League side Arsenal F.C., nicknamed The Gunners, are one of the most successful soccer teams in England thanks to winning 13 League titles, a record 13 FA Cups, the League Cup twice and 15 Community Shields.

The 2018-19 season is one of transition for The Gunners after Arsene Wenger stepped down from his role as manager at the end of the previous campaign. Wenger was in charge of Arsenal for 22-years, during which time he oversaw 828 Premier League matches.

Stepping into Wenger’s shoes would be a big ask of anyone and that job has fallen to Unai Emery who previously managed Paris St. Germain. Emery likes to play attractive, attacking soccer and Gunners’ fans hope he is the man to bring the glory days back to Arsenal.

It is a big ask of Emery when you consider Arsenal finished sixth in the Premier League last season and we 12 points behind fourth-placed Liverpool and an astonishing 37 points behind eventual champions Manchester City.

Arsenal have some incredible attacking players at their disposal including midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Mesut Ozil and striker partners Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. There are, however, question marks over Arsenal’s defensive capabilities, so expect their games to be flooded with goals; something to bear in mind when betting on Arsenal this season.

Arsenal League Standings

While it is unlikely Arsenal will be challenging for the Premier League title, their fans and their board of directors want Unai Emery to guide them to a top four finish where they will qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League. Does that look like happening according to the current Premier League standings? Let’s take a look.

How To Win Arsenal Bets

It is difficult to predict life for Arsenal after Arsene Wenger because he was with the club for 22-years and felt like part of the club’s fixtures and fittings. Unai Emery has the unenviable task of filling Wenger’s boots.

Emery’s first task is to address the Gunners’ woeful away form that cost them a place in the Champions League last season. Arsenal’s away record was the 11th best in the Premier League in the 2017-18 campaign, winning only four games, drawing four and losing 11 times on the road. Compare this to their home form where they won 15, drew two and lost two and you can see the size of the task Emery has.

Games involving Arsenal usually have plenty of goals with 26 of their 38 Premier League games last season triggering the over 2.5 goals market, a fact helped by Arsenal failing to score in only six of their fixtures. Seventy-nine percent of Arsenal’s home games had more than 2.5 goals with 53 percent hitting the 3.5 goals total, too.

Also note that the Both Teams To Score market paid out in 12 of Arsenal’s 19 away fixtures during the previous campaign.

This season should see plenty of goals scored by Arsenal. Alexandre Lacazette scored 14 league goals last season and is now joined by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, one of the fastest strikers in the world. If Emery pairs these two up front, Arsenal should blow away the lesser teams in the Premier League and cause plenty of problems for the so-called Big Four.
