Consecutive futile attempts to trade and buy their way into contender status in 2015 and 2016 only led to a combined total of 170 losses, so the management of the Chicago White Sox opted to blow things up and start over following the 2016 campaign. Out went ace pitcher Chris Sale and star outfielder Adam Eaton but back came a cache of prospects that suddenly leaving the ChiSox looking like the best young team in baseball.
