UFC Betting: UFC Fight Night 75 - Barnett Vs. Nelson

UFC Betting: UFC Fight Night 75 - Barnett Vs. Nelson

Main Event: Josh Barnett vs. Roy Nelson

Odds: Barnett -250, Nelson +195

Summing for a weight total over 500 pounds, two heavyweights will be “going at it” in the main event this weekend. While their combined weight may be shocking, the total number of professional fights for the two may be even more shockingly large – at a staggering 72. Experience is not going to be a huge factor in this match, but fighting style and grappling will be. For a super heavyweight, Josh “The Warmaster” Barnett is aptly trained in the art of submission and reliant on it for over 50% of his career victories – a considerably high percentage for a fighter in his weight class. Roy “Big Country” Nelson is strong defender – his only real clear advantage over Barnett – but his mediocre striking accuracy and below advantage speed, even for a heavyweight, make him the underdog at Fight Night 75.

Pick: Barnett

Gegard Mousasi vs. Uriah Hall

Odds: Mousasi -450, Hall +325

Uriah Hall was not the original opponent to face sixth ranked Middleweight fighter Gegard Mousasi, but he gladly filled in and has quite the challenge ahead of him. Mousasi – a veteran with 37 professional victories under his belt – is 4-2 in his UFC career but has been highly impressive over his last two fights, allowing him to climb the rankings. With a win tonight Mousasi could conceivably get a shot at the middleweight title – something that will certainly motivate him on Saturday. Both fighters favour striking over grappling, but Mousasi does have the advantage over Hall if the fight goes to the ground.

Pick: Mousasi
