Seattle vs Minnesota: NFL 2016 Wild Card Weekend Ice Bowl

Seattle vs Minnesota: NFL 2016 Wild Card Weekend Ice Bowl

Seattle aims for a third straight Super Bowl shot

Playing their 55th game, during the last three seasons, the playoff savvy Seahawks line up for their seventh playoff match in three years as the Hawks aim for a third straight Super Bowl appearance. Seattle wobbled through a 4-4 first half of the season before winning six of their last eight games as the Hawks offence really cranked it up. Somewhat surprisingly, Seattle’s two second half losses were both at home as the Hawks dropped 39-32 decision to Arizona and 23-17 match vs St. Louis. In their six victories however, Seattle demolished their opponents by a 207-62 margin. Seattle is still without star RB Marshawn Lynch who has been ruled out for this contest. We like Seattle's playoff experience here.

Minnesota Vikings: NFC North Champs land a tough playoff matchup

Thanks in part to a 20-13 Week 17 home win over the hated Green Bay Packers, Minnesota won the NFC North regular season title for the first time since 2009. The Vikings (11-5) opened their season with a 2-2 record, then they went on a five game winning streak prior to closing the year on a 4-3 run that included a 38-7 Week 13 clubbing by the Seahawks. Lead by sophomore QB Teddy Bridgewater, and rejuvenated RB Adrian Peterson, the Vikings went 9-1 against non-playoff teams but they were just 2-4 versus squads that earned a playoff berth. Dating back to the 2008 NFL season - Minnesota is 1-3 in playoff games and we feel they will be over-matched against the Hawks ferocious defense.
