San Francisco vs Kansas City: MLB 2014 World Series Call

San Francisco vs Kansas City: MLB 2014 World Series Call

Following four days without any Major League Baseball action, the 2014 World Series is finally upon us. San Francisco is in Kansas as the Giants aim for their third MLB Championship in five years while the Royals look to win Fall Classic for the first time since 1985. There’s not much separating these two Wild Card winning teams as they take the field for Game 1 at 8:07 PM ET on October 21, 2014, from what will be a fan crazy Kauffman Stadium in the Show Me State. This will be entertaining baseball.

San Francisco: World Series experience is huge

Back in the Fall Classic for the third time in five years, San Francisco is loaded with big game talent and tons of experience as they won it all in 2010 and again in 2012. Guided by Bruce Bochy, one of the best bench bosses in the game today, a host of Giants have been here and done this. Stars on offense like Buster Posey, Hunter Pence, Pablo Sandoval and Brandon Belt, along with stud pitchers Madison Bumgarner and Ryan Vogelsong, all played a role in the Giants four game sweep of the Detroit Tigers in 2012. While we don’t see a sweep this year – the Bay Area Boys will be tough to beat.

Kansas City: Home field advantage and never quit attitude is on their side

Back in the Fall Classic for the first time since 1985, when they came back from a 3-1 series deficit vs St. Louis, the Royals are writing an Oscar worthy Hollywood script. It seems like eons ago but it was only 21 days ago that KC was down 7-3 to the Athletics in the AL Wild Card game before they tied it with three runs in the bottom of eighth and another in the bottom of the ninth. After Oakland scored once in the top of the 12th inning, KC put up two runs in the bottom half for a 9-8 win. The Royals would then sweep the Angles (ALDS) and Orioles (ALCS) to earn their place in the Championship Series.

Fall Classic Game 1 and World Series Prediction: Simply stated, there’s nothing like experience and the Giants are loaded with it. The Royals are full marks for their eight game winning streak in the playoffs (11 counting the last three games in 1985) but we feel that they are in over their heads here. Surfing over to the Bovada online sportsbook, we like San Francisco with a 330 unit money line wager to win Game 1 and we’ll also wager 315 units on the Giants to win the 2014 MLB World Series.
