Pittsburgh vs Winnipeg: NHL Thursday Night Hockey Odds
We stick with National Hockey League action tonight as we feel the Pittsburgh vs Winnipeg contest is a mismatch that favors the visitors. The Penguins and Jets are both white-hot right now but the Sidney Crosby led Pens are simply the better team. Game time is 8:00 PM ET on November 6, 2014, from the MTS Centre in Manitoba, Canada. Hockey crazy Jets fans will be out in full force in the 'Peg.
Pittsburgh Penguins: Offensive juggernaut rolls on
Winners of five straight games, the high flying Penguins continue to steamroll over everyone in their path. Pittsburgh (8-2-1) is playing the second a five game road trip after a 4-1 win in Minnesota on Tuesday. Along with seemingly being able to light the lamp at anytime, the Pens have also been solid on defense as their recent winning streak has resulted in a 23-4 combined final score. Armed with a new contract, Penguins goaltender Mark-Andre Fleury will be in net tonight after Thomas Greiss made a rare start against the Wild. No one has been hotter between the pipes than Fleury who hasn't allowed a goal in over seven periods of play. Pittsburgh has been a money making machine since the start of the season as they have covered the puck line in all eight of their wins to date.
Winnipeg Jets: Starting to soar after a slow start
Following a 2-5-0 start to their season, Winnipeg has earned at least a point in six straight games as the Jets are on a 5-0-1 hot streak. Almost mirror opposite to the Penguins, the Jets are winning low scoring close contests as they have outscored their opponents by a 12-7 count during their winning run. While it's nice to see Winnipeg on a roll, they are going to need more than their current 1.85 goals per game average to take down the Penguins tonight. Pittsburgh has four of the top ten point producers in the NHL as Sidney Crosby (19) Evgeni Malkin (16) Patric Hornqvist (15) and Chris Kunitz (14) have a combined for 64 points in eleven games. The entire Jets team has 24 goals and 40 assists over thirteen games which matches the point production of Pittsburgh's quintessential quad. That's ironic actually.
Penguins vs Jets Prediction: Both teams have a day off with travel tomorrow as the Penguins shuffle off to Buffalo while the Jets fly over to Ottawa for Saturday night games. Pittsburgh is 3-2 in Winnipeg (7-2 overall since the Jets moved to Manitoba) and they have covered the spread in six of the wins. The Pen's are the better team and when they win - they cover. Lay the line and wager 300 units on the Pittsburgh puck line posted on the sportbook.ag betting board. Though not on our betting card, we like the Bengals to win a close contest over the Browns as Week 10 kicks off in the NFL.
