Winners of seven of their last ten contests, Oakland is on a bit of a roll. Though it may be too little too late, the Athletics trail Houston by 12.5 games in the AL West, Oakland has outscored their opponents by a 35-17 margin during their last ten games. Athletics ace RHP Sonny Gray (6-2 ERA 182) has allowed more than two runs in just two of his ten starts this season. His last two outings, a 6-2 win over the Yankees and 7-2 victory against Tampa Bay, have been impressive as Gray has allowed two runs on eight hits over 13 innings pitched. Solid run support has definietly helped Gray this season.
Detroit Tigers: Long losing run has erased a productive season start
Fast out of the 2015 MLB starting gate, Detroit was 26-17 on May 22, the Tigers have tanked during a 2-8 recent run that includes five straight loses by a combined 31-13 final count. Pitching has been an issue in Detroit as their staff owns a collective 3.89 ERA which is 16th overall in the Majors.
