NFL Week 13 Atlanta vs Tampa Bay Game Total Prediction
Falcons dream season has turned to a nightmare
Though somewhat fluky along the way - Atlanta jumped out of the 2015 NFL starting gate with a 5-0 record and they were matching the pace set by Carolina in the NFC South. Fast forward to Week 13 and the Panthers are still perfect at 11-0 while the Falcons now own a dismal 6-5 record. Carolina needs one more win, or an Atlanta loss, to lock up the division title so the Falcons are now eyeing a Wild Card berth - that's far from certain in the NFC. Atlanta has lost four in a row, with their bye week sandwiched in between, and the last two were at home. On the good news front, stud sophomore RB Devonta Freeman is back after sitting out almost two full contests with concussion issues.
Tampa Bay: Exciting young Bucs one week – Same old Yuks the next
Fans of the Buccaneers have been on rollercoaster style ride throughout the season as Tampa Bay looks strong one week and just plain weak the next. Sitting with a 5-6 record, the Bucs outscored their opponents by a 142-93 margin during their five wins while the Yuks have been clobbered by a 186-106 count in their six losses. Through it all, Tampa Bay still has a faint playoff hope as they trail Seattle and Atlanta by one win in the race for the final NFC Wild Card position. After the Bucs took a 20-3 third quarter lead, Tampa Bay squeaked out a 23-20 overtime win in Atlanta during NFL Week 8 action. The Bucs haven’t swept the Falcons in a season series since 2007. We're not sure they can that tide here.
Tampa Bay vs Atlanta NFL Week 13 Prediction: Two of the Falcons six wins last year were part of the Buccaneers 14 loses as Atlanta crushed Tampa Bay 56-14 in Georgia and then scored the last eleven points in a 27-17 victory in Florida. These teams have put up near exact numbers on defense as Atlanta has allowed 3722 yards (2657 R 1065 P) while Tampa Bay has given up 3727 total yards (2655 R 1072 P). Those numbers are 11th and 12th overall in the NFL. Expect a high scoring match here as 54.3 points per game has been the average during the last eight meetings between these teams. Bucs games are averaging 48 PPG while the Black Birds battles have resulted in 45 PPG so far this season.
