LA Galaxy have a stacked roster that includes the likes of captain Robbie Keane and former England national team captain Steven Gerrard, and added the vastly experienced Dutchman Nigel de Jong as a replacement for the outgoing Juninho. Much of LA’s success will come down to how fit Keane and Gerrard can stay, but with Gerrard turning 36-years-old in May, playing every game could be too big of an ask.

Portland Timbers : In With A Chance (Predicted Odds: +450)

Portland Timbers won their first MLS Cup in 2015 and did so in their first-ever finals. The losses of Jorge Villafana and Rodney Wallace will be difficult to take and places extra pressure on holding midfielder Diego Chara, especially if head coach Caleb Porter keeps to the 4-3-3 formation that served his side so well last year. Expect early MLS Cup betting odds in the region of +650.

Never Write Off The New York Red Bulls (+450)

You can never write-off the New York Red Bulls, a team who seem to excel during the regular season only to fall apart in the playoffs. This happened again in 2015 when they ran away with the Eastern Conference, finishing seven points clear of Columbus Crew SC, grabbing the Supporters’ Shield before losing in the conference final against SC Crew to a goal scored in less than 10 seconds of play. Will the 21st season of the MLS be the season the Red Bulls win the MLS Cup? It's Not All About The Favorites
