Miami vs Buffalo: NFL Week 11 Thursday Night Football

Miami vs Buffalo: NFL Week 11 Thursday Night Football

We get what should be a beauty tonight as Week 11 National Football League action opens with Miami and Buffalo continuing their long and storied rivalry. With identical 5-4 records, both teams are looking to bounce back from a tough loss in Week 10. The winner will stay well placed in the AFC playoff race while the loser will face a steep climb to get back in the fray. Game time is at 8:25 PM ET on November 13, 2014, from Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Florida. Defense will play a huge role in this slugfest in South Beach. Here are the nuts and bolts of this contest along with our proposition betting predictions.

Storied AFC East NFL rivalry heats up for round 102

Miami and Buffalo will meet for the 102nd time tonight as the Dolphins and Bllls have played 97 regular season games and these two sides have squared off four times in the playoffs. Miami leads the season series 56-40-1 while the Bills own a 3-1 mark in the postseason heading into this playoff style game. Buffalo is riding a three game winning streak against Miami and the Bills have dominated the Dolphins by a combined 71-31 final count in those contests. These teams last meet in South Beach back in Week 2 last season as Buffalo jumped out to a 17-7 lead before hanging on for a 23-21 victory. Buffalo kicked five field goals in a 29-10 home win in the first meeting this season back in Week 2 NFL action.

Team that rebounds stays in the second half playoff stretch run

Though the score doesn't exactly indicate it, Miami was battered and bruised in the Motor City last week as the Lions clawed their way to a 20-16 win with a touchdown in the final minute. Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill was hit nine times as Detroit brought relentless pressure and registered three sacks. Buffalo was in control with a 13-3 lead heading into the fourth quarter in Kansas City but the Chiefs rallied for 14 points in the final period to post a 17-13 victory. These were tough loses for both teams but Miami may have taken the bigger hit as the Phins lost LT Branden Albert for the season after the Pro Bowl caliber guard tore up his right knee in Detroit. CB Cortland Finnegan (ankle) is also out here.

Bills vs Dolphins Prop Betting: Having already bet on the Bills with the points, we turn our attention to the prop options posted at the TopBet sportsbook. Facing a staunch pass rush for a second straight week, we expect Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill to once again look for safety value TE Charles Clay often in this contest. Though Clay has been dealing with a knee injury all season, he had five catches versus the Chargers two weeks ago and another seven versus the Lions last week. Clay also hauled in seven receptions versus Buffalo in Week 2 so we'll lay 280 units on Clay to catch OVER 3.5 passes. With two solid defenses on the field, and given that the last two games between these teams have opened with a field goal, we will also wager 180 units on the first score in being a three-pointer in this match.
