Los Angeles Angels: Aiming for 7th straight victory
Posted as top American League chalk to win the 2015 MLB World Series back in the preseason, Los Angeles was 37-37 and five games out of first place in the American League West back on June 26. Since then, the Angels (53-40) have been the hottest team in the Majors as they are 16-3 over their last 19 games and now own a two game lead over the struggling Houston Astros. The Halos stormed out of the All-Star break with five straight wins including a 7-0 thumping of the Twins last night.
Minnesota Twins: Beginning to lose track of the Kansas City Royals
Playing well above their preseason expectations, Minnesota was tagged with a +8000 World Series money line price back in March, the Twins are on a bit of a tumble. Minnesota has lost three straight, by a 24-3 margin, and have fallen 6.5 games behind Kansas City in the AL Central Division. Sitting with a 50-43 overall record, the Twins currently hold one of the two Wild Card spots in the American League. The road has not been kind to Minnesota as they have posted a 19-27 record as visitors.
Twins vs Angels MLB Prediction: LHP C.J. Wilson (7-7 ERA 3.59) faces RHP Mike Pelfrey in the battle on the bump tonight. While neither pitcher has been exactly lights out this season, Los Angeles gets the edge here as Pelfrey has been brutal with 2-4 (6.02 ERA) record on the road.
