The United States had a fairly straight forward qualifying process for this tournament, finishing third behind Canada and Mexico with a record of seven wins from 14 games, scoring 21 goals and conceding just ten.
Coached by Gregg Matthew Berhalter, the States have lost just one in their last seven games in all competitions, with their last defeat coming against Japan back in September.
Their other games in that run have seen them win twice and draw four games, beating Morocco and Grenada while drawing with all of Uruguay, El Salvador, Saudi Arabia and Wales.
Star man Christian Pulisic is coming into the game out of form, struggling to hold a place down in the side at Chelsea while other top players like Weston McKennie, Brenden Aaronson, Tyler Adams and Gio Reyna have all had lacklustre campaigns too.
It was Pulisic who got the assist for young Timothy Weah against Wales, but they couldn't hold on despite a largely good performance.
England on the other hand cruised into the tournament by winning eight of their ten qualifying games, conceding just three goals in the process to get to the group stage as one of the favorites to win the entire tournament.
Goals from Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka (2), Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish saw them dominate against Iran, while Harry Kane impressed despite not getting on the scoresheet.
It's no surprise that they're strong favorites to win this game, and the USA will need to do something special to stop them.
Soccer picks: England to win
Manager Gareth Southgate surprised a lot of people by opting to go with a back four rather than a back five in the opening game, and was rewarded with a sensational attacking performance.
Kane was substituted with an ankle problem and has since been scanned, and while he is expected to play it's possible that he isn't at 100% and that could see England's attack blunter than previously expected.
A change of formation could see them look to seal up the defence more, knowing they're currently in control of the group after their opening day win and that the USA will come out to attack and potentially leave space at the back to counter attack.
Even with a change of system there is unlikely to be a major change to the lineup, so the Three Lions will still have plenty of firepower and more than enough quality to get a positive result and send the USMNT into serious qualification troubles depending on the result of the Wales vs Iran game earlier in the day.

Soccer picks: Back the unders
As mentioned previously, England could switch between a back four or a back five but either way they're unlikely to be as prolific as they were against Iran because the USA are a better team than them.
Both of these teams are arguably at their best when counter attacking with pace, which means when it comes to defending they like to sit pretty deep and invite pressure before breaking away.
England do it better than the USA, but both teams defend the counter pretty well too.
If the USA want to get a positive result from this game then they absolutely must score the first goal. If they don't then England will be able to pick them off the later into the game we go.
Expect a pretty cagey affair in the opening half before the game opens up late on, and therefore the Under 2.5 goals mark is a solid option to bet on and earn some extra cash.
