Dallas Stars: Still shining as the top team in the NHL
Continuing to churn along as the best team in hockey, though Washington is taking a run at them, Dallas plays their third game in four nights here. The Stars rolled into the Christmas break with three straight wins, by a combined 14-5 count, over Montreal, Minnesota and Chicago. Playing on Boxing Day, Dallas lost 3-2 (SO) in St. Louis before blanking the Blues 3-0 at home on Sunday. That victory keeps the Stars perfect at 10-0 in contests that follow a regulation or extra time loss and they’ve outscored their opponents by a 46-23 combined final count in those contests.
Columbus Blue Jackets: Continue to struggle at both ends of the rink
