Chicago looks to reignite Madhouse magic

After opening the season with a 12-3-1 mark at the United Center, Chicago has stumbled to a 4-4-2 record over their last ten games on home ice. The recent numbers include a 3-2 SO loss to Arizona and a 5-4 OT loss to Vancouver earlier this week. Playing the third of eight straight home games, Chicago has not posted three consecutive loses in an un-interrupted stretch at the Madhouse on Madison since the 2008-09 season. Chicago was facing this same scenario back in January but avoided losing three in a row at home with a 6-1 crushing of the Coyotes. The Devils have a roster that's similar to Arizona.

New Jersey Devils: Have cooled some after a hot start to the New Year

Looking like they were going to make a playoff push, after opening the New Year with a 8-3-2 record, New Jersey has dropped two straight games. The Devils were mauled 6-2 in Montreal on Saturday and then dropped a 2-1 decision at home to the lowly Oilers on Monday. New Jersey was out-shot 24-14 by Edmonton and that's the third time the Devils have registered just 14 shots over their last six games. Buffalo, with 22.8 shots per game, is the only team with less scoring chances than the 23.9 shots per game the Devils have posted. Chicago leads the league with a 34.7 shots per game average.
