Things are heating up for the NHL Playoffs and only a handful of teams remain as serious contenders to win the Stanley Cup this season. Over in the Western Conference, plenty of attention has gone to Dallas and understandably so. With that said, the Dallas Stars are huge favorites vs. Winnipeg for their 2025 NHL series. Will Dallas close things out in Game 5?
That's what a lot of people have in mind, as the Stars have looked sensational thus far in the second round. Winnipeg was able to win one matchup, but Dallas has looked dominant in the three others, which has them up 3-1 in the series. With Game 5 almost here, a lot of Stars fans are hoping this team can go ahead and close things out, which a lot of folks think will get done.

Meanwhile over in the Eastern Conference, the Carolina Hurricanes are also looking to close things out in Game 5. Carolina has looked spectacular in the second round against the Capitals, but Washington is hoping to put up a fight before the lights go out. Carolina indeed has been dominant, which has been exciting for a lot of people to see.
With the Hurricanes holding a 3-1 lead, they're indeed just one win away from reaching the next round. Carolina has been making plenty of noise of late, with the team's supporters dreaming of them going on a Stanley Cup run. Before we even start thinking about that, the playmakers for the Hurricanes will need to take care of business against Washington.

From our chair, we think that Carolina is going to end up winning the Eastern Conference, and then it's going to be a bit of a toss up between Edmonton and Dallas for the Western Conference crown. That series could end up going a full seven games if they meet off. So, who would win? We'll go with our gut and pick Dallas to win the Western Conference title.
