How To Bet On AL West

The key to success in the American League West is rooted deeply in the heart of Texas. The best teams in the division at the moment are without a doubt the Texas Rangers and the Houston Astros. If one of them isn’t on top at the end of the season, it will be a significant upset. The Rangers won the division crown in 2015 and 2016. The Astros were a Wild Card team in 2015 and advance to the ALCS. The Los Angeles Angels suit up the best player in the division and baseball’s most complete player in outfielder Mike Trout. [+]

Trout, if he stays healthy, has the potential to be one of baseball’s best ever. Combining Trout, a former MVP, and also a multiple-time National League MVP in veteran Albert Pujols, and the Angels have one of the more dynamic lineups in the division. But their pitching is suspect.

The Oakland Athletics, the masters of Moneyball, have been in serious decline for a couple of years now and the Seattle Mariners last won the AL West title in 2001.

American League West betting tips

After a breakout season in 2015, the 2016 campaign was supposed to be a coronation for the Houston Astros, but as is often the case when a young team enjoys a breakthrough, there was a regression.

Don’t fret. The Astros will be the best of the West in 2017. Led by MVP contender Jose Altuve, who is surrounding by a stellar supporting cast, including 2015 AL rookie of the year Carlos Correa, George Springer and Alex Bregman, Houston is primed to make some noise, not only within the division, but across MLB.

Mariners Could Be the Sleeper Team

If any club is poised to challenge the Texas two step atop the AL West, bet on it being the Seattle Mariners

The Mariners have gone through nine managers and four GMs since their last postseason appearance in 2001. But if Seattle can find enough pitching to go with their potent attack, the Mariners might finally set sail toward the playoffs.

After taking into account all of the information above, make sure to peruse the breakout table below to find the best fit for you.
