Vancouver vs Boston: Canucks And Bruins Battle in Beantown

Vancouver vs Boston: Canucks And Bruins Battle in Beantown

Boston Bruins: Battling out of post-holiday blues

Coming out of the Christmas break with a dismal 2-6-1 record, Boston is returning to their winning form as the Bruins have won three straight contests. Decent offense and strong netminding have been keys to pulling the Bruins out of their skid as Boston posted victories over Buffalo (4-1) Toronto (3-2) and Montreal (4-1). The wins have moved the Bruins to within four points of the suddenly stumbling Florida Panthers in the Atlantic Division. The Beantown Boys haven’t had a lot of recent success against the Canucks as Boston is 2-4-0 versus Vancouver since their thrilling 2011 NHL Stanley Cup series.

Vancouver Canucks: Long east coast road trip is nearing an end

Vancouver rolls into Boston to play the fifth of a six-game east coast road trip tonight. The trip began with a 4-1 loss in Washington, continued with extra time wins over Carolina (3-2 OT) and the Islanders (2-1 SO) prior to a 3-2 (OT) loss to the Rangers in New York on Tuesday. Vancouver has earned at least one point in eight of their eleven contests since returning from the holiday break. The Canucks will be without second leading scorer Henrik Sedin as he will miss a second game with a lower-body injury. Vancouver has been out-shot by a whopping 177-78 margin during their last four matches.

Bruins vs Canucks NHL Call: Tuukka Rask (16-13-4 GAA 2.45) will face Jacob Markstrom (7-5-4 GAA 2.40) in the goaltending duel tonight. After opening January with five straight loses, due in part to a lack of offensive support, Rask has won his last two starts. Markstrom, who spells red-hot starter Ryan Miller here, has been solid as he’s allowed 13 goals while posting a 4-1-1 record during six starts this month. Back the Bruins with a five-unit unit wager on the money line posted at the Sportsbook.ag wagering website. Click the odds image below for instant access to Sportsbook.ag NHL action.
