Just three days after he made his successful title defense against Perez at UFC 255, Figueiredo signed on the dotted line to headline UFC 256 three weeks later.

Oddsmakers anticipate that Figueiredo will keep on rolling against Brandon Moreno and it's difficult to make an argument against that assessment. The -325 chalk in the UFC 256 Vegas odds, Figueiredo has won his last four bouts without going the distance in any of them. He's been required to work beyond the first round in just one of those fights.

Deiveson Figueiredo (20-1) vs Brandon Moreno (18-5-1)

Figueiredo opened as the -260 chalk in the UFC 256 Vegas odds and the line has only shortened in his favor. The champ is riding a five-bout win streak. He knocked out Joseph Benavidez twice and scored submissions of Perez and Tim Elliott in that span.

Moreno is 4-0-1 though his past five fights. He's beaten the No. 6 (Brandon Royval) and No. 7 (Kai Kara France) UFC flyweight contenders, but could only salvage a draw against third-ranked Askar Askarov. Interestingly, Figueiredo's only career loss was to Jussier Formiga in 2019. Moreno scored a decision over Formiga in March.

Figueiredo will be making history as the first UFC world champ to fight in successive months. But Moreno also fought at UFC 255, so he won't gain a rest advantage. Figueiredo can win by knockout or a variety of submission holds. He simply has too many options in his toolbox for Moreno to handle.

Tony Ferguson (25-4) vs Charles Oliveira (29-8)

The former UFC interim lightweight world champ, in his last bout Ferguson lost to Justin Gaethje in a bid to reclaim that title. That was his first defeat in eight years. 

Pitting No. 3 (Ferguson) and No. 6 (Oliveira) in the division against each other, this bout has potential for the fight of the night. Both Ferguson and Oliveira are masters of submission. Oliveira has won seven in a row, all via finish. He owns the UFC record for most submissions (14) and is hungry for a title shot. Go with the price on underdog Oliveira in the UFC odds.

Rafael Fiziev (8-1) vs Renato Moicano (14-3-1)

Originally slated for Nov. 28, this bout was delayed when Moicano tested positive for COVID-19. The Brazilian only recently switched to lightweight from flyweight. He beat Damir Hadzovic in his debut in this weight class.

Moicano's strength is his ground game but Fiziev can counter that with elite-level takedown defense. The striking power of Fiziev will also make it difficult for Moicano to get inside and should give Fiziev the edge in the UFC betting and enable the Kyrgyzstani police officer to dictate the fight.
