Season so far

UConn Huskies have had a remarkable season up to this point with a brilliant 24-2 winning record, with their only defeats coming in December against Big East opponents.

The season started with a fantastic 7-0 run, which included thumping victories against Northern Arizona (95-52), Stonehill (107-67) and Mississippi Valley State (87-53) in the opening three games of the season.

They then claimed wins over Indiana, Texas, Manhattan and New Hampshire before they suffered their first defeat of the season against no.5 Kansas in a Big East Big 12 battle. That was followed up with three consecutive wins over North Carolina, Arkansas Pine-Bluff and Gonzaga before the Big 12 season began.

There they suffered their second defeat of the season, losing 75-60 to Seton. Since that game though they have claimed 14 wins on the spin, including a few blowout victories en route.

Wins over St John's (x2), DePaul (x2), Butler (x2), Xavier (x2), Georgetown (x2), Creighton, Villanova Providence have all followed, plus a dominant win over Marquette last time out, and they come into this game ranked first in the Big East.

Creighton have had a solid season so far with a record of 19-7 so far, ranking themselves in third place in the Big East standings as it stands.

The non-conference season started with five consecutive wins as they smashed past Florida A&M, North Dakota State, Iowa, Texas Southern and Loyola Chicago. But they fell to defeat for the first time when they took on Colorado State and only managed to score 48 points.

They managed to win their next three games though against Oklahoma State, Nebraska and Central Michigan but they then fell to defeat once again against UNLV, before ending that period of the season with a tight win over Alabama.

The Big East regular season began with two consecutive defeats against Villanova and Marquette, but they found form after that and registered four straight wins against Georgetown, Providence, DePaul and St John's to move up the rankings.

The first meeting against UConn earlier in the season saw a 48-62 defeat, before three consecutive wins over Seton Hall, Xavier and DePaul again. Butler and Providence secured wins over Creighton in the following games before a three-game winning run over Xavier, Georgetown and Butler saw them head into this game full of confidence and ranked third in the Big East.

NCAAB Picks: UConn Huskies to win again

This is going to be an exciting game between two teams that are very much in form, but there is a clear difference between the quality of the two teams right now.

The teams have met three times since 2023, with the Huskies coming out on top twice in those games including a 62-48 win last month. The home team has won in each of the last four meetings between these sides, but it seems more likely that Conneticut will get the win this time to snap that run.

UConn have scored an average of 82 points per game, which ranks them 30th across all the teams in college basketball, while Creighton are averaging 81.2 points per game, ranking them in 35th place. Huskies are also conceding less points on average per game with 63.7 compared to 69.3 and that should be enough to see them secure the victory.

NCAAB Picks: Back the overs to land

The overs certainly looks like the play here, with both teams certainly having their biggest strengths with their scoring rather than their defensive abilities.

Cam Spencer is the main man for UConn with an average of 15.2 points per game this season, while for Creighton it's Baylor Scheierman leading the way with an average of 18.2 per game. This league is usually quite a high-scoring one and when two of the top three teams go head-to-head it can often become a game of ego.

The top players are capable of leading their teams through tough games, and with the likes of Tristen Newton, Alex Karaban and Trey Alexander in the supporting cast there is real potential for this to be an entertaining game.

Over the last ten games UConn have scored 800 points, with a total of 140.9 points on average per game in that time while the Bluejays have scored 836 points in their last ten games, with 156.8points scored on average in their games over the same period.

You'd expect similar, if not more, numbers to land once again, and that makes the Over the perfect bet for this game. Back it and enjoy watching the points roll in to boost your bank balance at the same time.
