Boston vs Washington: Bruins have hit playoff stride

Riding a 7-1-0 stretch, Boston appears to be gearing up for an eighth straight playoff appearance. The Bruins last four contests have been particularly impressive as they took out Detroit, Ottawa, Tampa Bay and Pittsburgh by a 13-6 margin. Prior to the Bruins hot streak, Washington was nine points clear of Boston but the Capitals 3-4-0 recent run has brought them back to the pack. The Caps have not recorded a win versus a Cup contender since a 3-2 (SO) win over the Islanders on February 21.

Ottawa vs Philadelphia: Senators are surging in the Eastern Conference

Earning at least one point in 14 of their last 16 games (12-2-2) Ottawa has moved to within seven points of Washington for the final playoff spot in the East and they have two games in hand on the Caps. The Senators are riding the hot hand of netminder Andrew “The Hamburglar” Hammond who is now 9-0-1 to start his NHL career. Philadelphia destroyed Detroit 7-2 in the Motor City yesterday (did they score too much?) but they have just three wins in their last ten contests. With 12 games left on their schedule, the Flyers are ten points out of the playoff race and just about out of running room.

NHL Parlay Prediction: We expect the Washington vs Boston battle to be a closely contended clash and we are backing the streaking Bruins. Ottawa has shown a decent mix of scoring and defense as they have outscored their opponents 37-21 during their past 12 games. Looking to get some value with the Bruins bloated puck line odds, we’ll tie that price to the Senators money line with a 200 unit parlay wager at the BetOnline sportsbook.
