Horse racing's newest star goes back to work on Saturday, as Travers Stakes winner West Coast faces nine others in the (G1) Pennsylvania Derby. They'll be racing 1 1/8 miles on the Park dirt, chasing a total purse of $1 million.

European shipper Hawkbill takes on seven others Saturday as the strong favorite in the (G1) Northern Dancer Turf Stakes at Woodbine. They'll race 1 1/2 miles on the Woodbine grass, chasing a purse of $300,000.

The opening weekend of play in the NFL offered a ton of surprises … or maybe that’s just the norm in this league. Talk of the Patriots running the table are gone. They now look like one of about 10 teams that can win the title. Other franchises like the Rams, Browns and Bears finally gave their fans some hope. Let’s see if that continues in Week 2.
