NFL Week 1 Picks

Here we go! The National Football League 2013 season is upon us and the schedule makers have given us a gift to get things going. Tonight's Baltimore Ravens vs. Denver Broncos battle is a rematch of their 2013 AFC Divisional playoff game. The pigskins fly at Sports Authority Field at Mile High at 8:30 PM ET on September 5, 2013. This grudge match should be fantastic but we like the hometown Broncos here!

Baltimore Begins Super Bowl Defense

Although some key pieces of the puzzle are missing (Ed Reed is in Houston and Anquan Boldin is with the 49ers) the Baltimore Ravens begin defense of their Super Bowl title against Denver tonight. Baltimore registered a thrilling 38-35 overtime victory over the Broncos at Sports Authority Field in the playoff battle last season. While we love this match-up, we feel Baltimore is getting short changed, as the Super Bowl Champions should always open at home. Though there's been an offseason break, this is the Ravens fourth straight road game. The Champs are in tough in the Mile High air.

Denver Broncos: Preseason AFC Championship Favorites

After falling short of their goals during the 2012 NFL season, QB Peyton Manning and the Broncos enter the 2013 season with high hopes and a ton of expectations. Denver has been posted as top chalk with a +237 money line to capture the AFC Championship. Already loaded with weapons, WR Wes Welker joins the Broncos and should continue to excel with Manning who is s "dink and dunk" pass master. Welker caught 672 QB Tom Brady passes in New England and we expect more of the same as he begins his life in the Mile High State.

Defending Super Bowl Champions aren’t getting much love

Being the Champs isn’t getting Baltimore much respect as the Bovada online sportsbook bookmakers have posted the Ravens as +8 (-110) point road chalk tonight. Game total bettors get a 48.5 Over/Under line. Home field means a lot so we'll load up on Denver with the -8 (-110) point spread posted at the bovada.lv online sportsbook!
