NFL Championship Sunday Preview And Parlay Prediction
AFC Championship: Patriots vs Broncos Act IV
Peyton Manning vs Tom Brady XVII will play out on Sunday. It may be the Final Act. The only thing about that matchup we are concerned with is the fact that Brady produced an NFL fourth best 102.2 passer rating while Manning barely made the chart with his 34th ranked 67.9 passer rating. That was the worst mark on an expanded 34 QB stat list. The Patriots have a clear advantage when it comes to the passing game here. Denver has kicked up their run game to compensate for Manning so, with C.J. Anderson and Ronnie Hillman hauling the rock, the Broncos have a slight advantage in the ground attack. The Patriots have been pummelled with RB injuries all season but don't be surprised if RB James White does some damage. On defense, Denver allowed 18.5 PPG while New England wasn’t far behind allowing 19.6 PPG during the regular season. We like the Patriots in this contest.
NFC Championship: Arizona Cardinals vs Carolina Panthers
Two of the most explosive offensive teams in football are set to fight it out in the NFC Championship game. Cam Newton and the Panthers led the league with 31.3 PPG while the Carson Palmer led Cardinals were second in scoring as they posted 30.6 PPG during the regular season. These teams were also neck-and-neck on defense as Carolina was sixth allowing 19.3 PPG while Arizona was seventh as they gave up 19.6 PPG. The Panthers have not lost at home since November 16, 2014, when they dropped a 19-17 decision to Atlanta, a streak that’s at 12 games and counting now. Included in that count is a 27-16 win over the Cardinals during 2015 NFL Wild Card game – though this edition of the Cardinals is a better team. We like the Cats to ground the visiting Red Birds here.
NFL Championship Sunday Parlay Prediction: Visitors won all four Wild Card Weekend games while the home teams completed the sweep during NFL Divisional playoff action last weekend. Our research points to a V/H split during the Championship games on Sunday. Unless we get blindsided by shenanigans associated with this possibly being Peyton Manning’s last season - we like the Patriots as visitors and the Panthers as a home team. Give us New England and Carolina with a three-unit wager on the money lines prices posted at Bovada. Just in case there is some scripted WWE style stuff in the Rockies – we are also adding a Denver +3.5 plus Carolina money line parlay for another two-units. More importantly, we may have a double-dip opportunity heading into the NFC Championship tilt.
