New York vs Pittsburgh: Friday Night NHL Puck Betting

National Hockey League action is our Friday focus as we preview and predict the Pittsburgh versus New York Eastern Conference clash. The Penguins have won ten of their last eleven games and have earned at least a point in all but two of their 17 contests. Apart from a 5-0 loss in New York a week ago Tuesday, the Pens have punished everyone in their path as they have outscored their opponents by a 42-11 final count in their ten wins. It's not all offense either as Pittsburgh goalie Marc-Andre Fleury has posted four shutouts in his last nine starts. 

Upstart Islanders look like legitimate playoff contenders this season

It seems only fitting, given their historic postseason runs at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, that the Islanders are in the thick of the playoff race during their final season on Long Island. Sitting with a 12-6 record, New York trails Pittsburgh by just three points for first overall in the Metropolitan Division. The Islanders are sporting the fourth most potent offense in the NHL as the young guns are averaging 3.11 goals per game. Defense is another story though as New York is allowing 2.89 goals per game.

New York vs Pittsburgh Game Day Call: The Penguins have four straight wins over the Islanders including a 3-1 victory on the road in their first clash this season. That contest, on October 18, ended a 4-0 season opening start by New York. Both teams last played on Tuesday as the Islanders registered a 5-2 win at home versus Tampa Bay while the Penguins return home after a 4-0 win in Montreal. The Islanders are a much improved squad this season and we'll respect that by avoiding the puck line and wagering 500 units on the Penguins money line posted on the Sportsbook.ag betting board.
