- Pro boxer Floyd Mayweather is the -1800 favorite to defeat Logan Paul in their June 6 bout
- YouTube influencer Paul is the +850 underdog
- Mayweather is 50-0 as a pro. Paul is 0-1 in official bouts
Analysis for Mayweather vs Logan Paul
Floyd Mayweather's nickname is money and Mayweather will most certainly be money against Logan Paul. If Paul truly thinks his June 6 boxing bout with multiple world champion Mayweather is going to be anything other than a lopsided mismatch, perhaps he needs to speak with Conor McGregor.
In 2017, UFC World Champion McGregor stepped into the ring to face Mayweather. He was a professionally-trained combat fighter who even had some pro boxing experience on his resume. That being said, Mayweather absolutely dominated McGregor before ending the fight via a 10th-round TKO.

Many in boxing rate Mayweather among the finest pound for pound fighters in the history of the sport. Certainly, based on the Vegas boxing odds being offered on this bout, the smart money will be backing the Money Man. Mayweather is an overwhelming -1800 choice as the betting favorite. Paul is a longshot +850 underdog. Truth be told, that betting line actually flatters his chances.

Following his brother Jake's victories in the squared circle over former NBA player Nate Robinson and ex-UFC fighter Ben Askren, it seems as though there's a little more belief that Logan Paul can make a fight of it with Mayweather. Based upon Mayweather's career trajectory when facing the world's greatest boxers, that seems to be a rather optimistic outlook.
The location for the bout will be Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. If you're new to wagering on boxing, or sports in general, check out our handy how-to-bet-on-sports guide.
Mayweather Will Make Short Work Of Paul
Mayweather's most recent fight was on Dec. 31, 2018. He fought unbeaten Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa. The bout lasted all of 149 seconds. Mayweather put Nasukawa down on the canvas three times before Nasukawa's corner threw in the towel.
That was his first fight since his 2017 TKO of McGregor. Most boxing observers were of the opinion that McGregor only lasted until the 10th round because Mayweather allowed him to survive that long. Mayweather let McGregor punch himself out in the early rounds. By the fourth round, it was evident that McGregor was out of gas and breathing heavily, his mouth agape.

Mayweather measured his opponent carefully and delivered punishing right hands that eventually left the UFC champ out on his feet.
That bout was against a professional fighter with years of combat sports experience. Paul fits neither of these descriptions. This fight will also last as long as Mayweather decides he will allow it to continue.
Boxing's Best Couldn't Lay Their Hands On Money
Manny Pacquiao. Canelo Alvarez. Oscar De La Hoya. Miguel Cotto. Shane Mosley. Juan Manuel Marquez. Zab Judah. Arturo Gatti. The best boxing has had to offer over the past two decades have sought to topple Mayweather. All failed, most of them miserably.
To think that a part-time boxer and full-time mouthpiece is going to step in the ring with the Money Man and not be quickly cashed out is simply foolhardy. Mayweather is perhaps the best defensive fighter in the history of the squared circle. The world's finest couldn't nail him with a finishing blow. We're supposed to expect someone who's had one pro fight can defy the boxing odds and get the job done?

There used to be a show on television called Pros vs Joes. The concept was that recreational athletes were given a chance to test their skills against the world's best. Most episodes ended as you'd imagine, with the amateur Joe suffering an embarrassing and often painful setback.
That is the fate awaiting Paul. Some believe his size (6-foot-2, 200 pounds) will offer a physical edge against the 5-foot-8, 150-pound, 43-year-old Mayweather. Victor Ortiz, among the 50 fighters who've been vanquished by Mayweather, is training Paul and thinks this could help Paul in the ring. He's merely forgetting the old saying about the bigger they are, the harder they fall.
The Mayweather-Paul Vegas odds heavily favor the Money Man because he is money and he knows it. As savvy as he is in the ring, Mayweather is just as calculating outside of the ropes. He's a shrewd businessman who never bites off more than he can chew. He knows how to market a product, but most of all, he knows how to finish on top.
Mayweather will easily finish on top against Paul. He'll toy with Paul and bring the bout to an end when he decides it's time to be done with this foolishness.
