Los Angeles Dodgers vs New York Mets: 2015 NLDS Game One Call

Dodgers aim to take advantage of home cooking

Count Los Angeles in the crowd that wants to see the visitors winning ways come to an end. Tied with St. Louis, the Dodgers and Cardinals 55-26 record at home was the Majors best mark this season. Hot at Dodger Stadium down the stretch, Los Angeles went 13-6 over their last 19 home games. The Mets rolled into SoCal in early July and left with 2-1 series win versus the Dodgers by a 13-5 margin. Los Angeles was in control of the weak NL West for most of the season and their 92-70 overall record was eight games better than the San Francisco Giants (84-78) who finished second in the division.

MLB trade deadline was a springboard to the New York Mets Success

With a 53-50 record at the July 31 MLB trade deadline, New York trailed Washington by two games in the NL East. Then, one of the best trades of the season brought OF Yoenis Cespedes to New York from Detroit and he was an instant boost to the Mets offence. New York scored 365 runs over 101 games prior to Cespedes arriving – they scored 318 runs over their last 61 contests. A 37-22 post trade deadline record pushed the Mets well past Washington as the Nationals faded to seven games back at the end of the season. The Mets were solid 41-40 on the road during the regular season.

Dodgers vs Mets MLB 2015 NLDS Game One Prediction: LHP Clayton Kershaw (16-7 ERA 2.13) battles RHP Jacob deGromm (14-8 ERA 2.54) in the mound matchup tonight. Kershaw started one of the July home loses but earned a no decision after allowing one run on five hits over seven innings. Kershaw left the game with the scored tied at 1-1 and the Mets scored on a sacrifice fly in the ninth inning to post a 2-1 win. deGromm received a no decision in his only start against LA has he tossed 7.2 scoreless innings and allowed just two hits in the Mets 3-2 ten-inning win in Queens on July 26. While Kershaw got stronger down the stretch, allowing 17 earned runs over his last 125.2 innings pitched, degromm faded slightly as he allowed 25 earned over 63.2 innings during his last eleven starts. Not expecting a blowout by either side here, we will take the runs and back the Mets with a 500 unit wager on the Alternate Run Line posted at the Sportsbook.ag online wagering website.
