Dallas vs St. Louis: Falling Stars Face The Surging Blues
St. Louis Blues: Chasing Nashville in the wild West
Having earned at least point in 16 of 19 games since the start of January – it has been a very Happy New Year for Blues fans. Running as hot as they are is a good thing for St. Louis as Nashville is also streaking along. The Predators are four points ahead St. Louis for first in the Western Conference. Following a stumble where they lost 7-1 to Columbus and 4-2 to Chicago, the Blues registered a 6-3 win over Tampa Bay and 2-1 (SO) victory over Florida. St. Louis is a highly stacked NHL squad.
Dallas Stars: Reality sets in without leading scorer Tyler Sequin
While injuries are part of pro sports – some are bigger than others. That’s certainly the case in Dallas as the Stars will be without their leading score Tyler Sequin for up to six weeks. Sequin was clipped during a 2-0 win over Florida and one night later the Stars looked kind of lost during a 4-1 crushing in Colorado. Players need to step up and chip in to help replace the point per game plus that Sequin was bringing to the table. Dallas is eight points behind Winnipeg and six back of San Jose, plus they have to leap the Kings and Wild, in the Western Conference Wild Card race. A rough road lies ahead.
Blues vs Stars Prediction: Dallas will also be without Ales Hemsky and Patrick Eaves who both suffered injuries in the contest versus the Panthers. Apart from missing top D-Man Kevin Shattenkirk (40 PTS plus-18 rating in 48 games) who has been out for two weeks, the Blues are a fairly healthy squad. Feeling St. Louis will take care of business on their home pond; we will back the Blues with a 300 unit wager on the Regulation Time line posted on the NHL betting board at Bovada.
