As the NFL celebrates its 100 anniversary, the league welcomes the Kansas City Chiefs back to the Super Bowl for the first time in 50 years. The Chiefs, 1.5-point favorites in Super Bowl 54, won Super Bowl 4 23-7 over the Minnesota Vikings as 12-point underdogs. Their opponents, the San Francisco 49ers have won five of six Super Bowl appearances but none since a 1995 victory in Super Bowl 29.
Cleveland vs Minnesota: Tribe Battle For MLB Wild Card Spot
Still battling to earn a Major League Baseball American League Wild Card berth, Cleveland hosts Minnesota in AL Central Division action tonight. The Indians are four games out of the MLB postseason race while the Twins playoff hopes were dashed long ago. First pitch is slated for 7:05 PM ET on September 9, 2014, at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio. We like the Tribe to top the Twins here.
Cleveland Indians: Chasing MLB postseason berth
Winners of ten of their last 15 games, the Indians continue to battle for a position in the 2014 MLB postseason party. Chasing Detroit and Seattle for the second and final AL Wild Card spot, time is starting to run out on the Tribe as they have just 19 games left on their 2014 MLB schedule. LHP Trevor Bauer (5-7 ERA 4.10) gets the call for Cleveland and the Indians have won five of his last six starts.
Minnesota Twins are playing out the string on a long season of losing
Already assured of their fourth straight losing season, Minnesota appears to be wishing the season was over as they have lost 12 of their last 15 games. The Twins (61-82) send rookie RHP Trevor May to the hill tonight. May has been a gas can as he allowed 26 runs and 36 hits over 24 innings pitched this season. We can't see the Twinkies having much spark in this road contest tonight.
MLB Prediction: The betonline.ag sportsbook is our Indians vs Twins odds supplier today. Cleveland is home chalk with a -171 money line price and we will lay 500 unit wager on the Tribe in this contest.
