The 2024-25 UEFA Champions League is the 69th edition of Europe’s premier club soccer competition and the 32nd season since changing its branding to the Champions League from the European Cup.
The 36 teams will be divided into four seeded pots, each containing nine teams. Each club will face two teams from every pot, playing one match at home and one away. Teams will not be drawn against clubs from their own domestic league, and no club will face more than two teams from the same country.
The first Round of 16 fixtures begins in mid September, according to the Champions League Schedule. Those teams progressing to the quarter-finals begin to play in April with the semi-finals kicking off in early May followed by the second legs in mid-May.
