UFC Betting: UFC 190 Rousey Vs. Correia Preview
Main Event: Ronda Rousey vs. Bethe Correia
Odds: Rousey -1400, Correia +750
The women’s bantamweight belt is on the line on Saturday night, but the likelihood of it hands is slim to none. Ronda Rousey is pound-for-pound one of the toughest fighters in the UFC and her undefeated record has been achieved through utter dominance over some opponents. Rousey is a submission specialist while Correia is much more of a striker. The key for Correia to have any chance at victory is to keep Rousey standing up and avoid at all costs, letting the match go to the mat. The odds of Correia being able to go 5 rounds without being taken down is very low and the reason the lines on this title fight are what they are.
Pick: Rousey
Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Mauricio Rua
Odds: Nogueria +165, Rua -190
Two Brazilian veterans face off in one of UFC 190 undercards. Rua and Nogueira both have over 20 wins in their lengthy MMA careers, but Nogueira is five years Rua’s senior and entering the twilight of his fighting career. The two light heavyweights both are experienced in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, but Rua is skilled in Muay Thai. Since the two fighters are on the larger size, Rua’s mixed background gives him the edge over Nogueira’s more advanced jiu-jitsu training.
Pick: Rua
Stefan Struve vs. Minotauro Nogueira
Odds: Struve -170, Nogueira +150
In the card’s heavyweight bout, bettors and fan will have a chance to enjoy watching two fighters separated by 9 inches in height by only 2 lbs in weight. Struve, aptly nicknamed the Skyscraper, towers in at 84 inches tall and looks more like a NBA centre than a MMA fighter. Minotauro actually has the slight edge in weight and both fighters have had long and fruitful MMA careers. Struve is not the greatest defender of striking but Nogueira is a submission specialist and Struve is a better defend on the ground than standing. This match should be close, but Struve gets the slight edge.
Pick: Struve
