Most Likely Team To Win: TCU
In one of the toughest conferences to predict the winner in, the Horn Frogs have the slightest edge over their cross state rival. TCU’s quarterback Trevone Boykin will flourish in his second year running the offense and is an early Heisman favourite. With depth at running back, wide receiver and on the offensive line TCU has one of the best offenses in all of college football. The defense may not strike fear into the eyes of opponents, but coach Gary Patterson knows how to develop players and will find the best players to fill the voids left by graduating players.
TCU plays Baylor at the end of November, in what will likely decide the division. The over 100 year old rivalry between the two teams has led to many memorable matches. Baylor currently leads the series 52-51-7, but both teams have a winning record at home. This November it will be Baylor taking a trip to Fort Worth, giving TCU the important home field advantage they’ll need to lock up the conference.
A Sleeper Team That Could Surprise: Kansas State
The Wildcats smart and efficient offensive and defensive systems will make them one of the better Big 12 teams in 2015. The Wildcats may not have an elite QB like division rivals TCU and Baylor, which will keep them out of discussion for the conference title. The team does a strong secondary to keep them in games when the offense isn’t firing on all cylinders. A light schedule will help the Wildcats’ chances in 2015 as well.
