Once viewed as nothing more than a journeyman fighter, the 38-year-old fighter will defend his title for the second time when he faces Brazilian Glover Teixeira in the main event at UFC 267.

Blachowicz won the title from Dominick Reyes at UFC 253 on September 27, 2020. UFC world middleweight champ Israel Adesanya, apparently viewing Blachowicz as a soft touch, stepped up in weight class to challenge Blachowicz for his title. Instead, the Pole handed Adesanya his first career defeat via a solid unanimous decision victory.

When he lost four of five bouts between 2015-17, the MMA world was ready to write off Blachowicz as a legitimate contender. He's won nine of 10 fights since then, including five in a row. Blachowicz is a solid -265 betting choice in the UFC 267 odds to continue his winning ways against Teixeira.
Aljamain Sterling will defend his UFC bantamweight world title against Peter Yan in a rematch of their bout at UFC 259 when Sterling won the belt. Yan is the -350 betting choice in the UFC 267 picks to pull off the upset.

During his current 9-1 streak, Blachowicz has posted five of his nine wins by stoppage. Both of these veteran pros are thinking man's fighters, so it won't be a foolish mistake that decides this bout.
Teixeira probably has a slight edge when it comes to boxing skills but he can't match the kickboxing skills of Blachowicz. That factor, coupled with the Polish fighter's two-inch reach advantage, should give him the edge in the UFC 267 picks in what figures to be a very competitive fight.

Yan was dominating the fight when he was disqualified. He'd dropped Sterling earlier in the bout and was in complete control. Without that one mistake, the title would've been his to claim. That's why Yan is the play in the UFC 267 odds. He's unlikely to make the same mistake twice.
