Adesanya will be looking to rebound after suffering the first loss of his MMA career. He stepped up to light heavyweight and was defeated in a title bout by champion Jan Blachowicz. In 2018, before he was middleweight champion, Adesanya won a split decision from Vettori.

Israel Adesanya clearly bit off more than he could chew by stepping up in weight to challenge UFC world light-heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz. Has Marvin Vettori done likewise by accepting a chance to battle Adesanya for his UFC world middleweight belt? The oddsmakers would appear to be assessing that to be the case.

Italy's Vettori is a prohibitive +220 underdog in UFC betting as he prepares to step into the octagon to battle Adesanya in the main event at UFC 263. The two fighters do have a history, though, and it's an interesting one. On April 14, 2018, Vettori faced Adesanya during a UFC On FOX card. This was prior to Adesanya's title reign.

The Nigerian Nightmare won a split decision victory. Among Adesanya's six career victories by decision, this was the only one that wasn't unanimous. Two of the judges saw him as the 29-28 winner. The third judge scored the fight 29-28 in favor of Vettori.

Flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo is the -250 choice in the UFC 263 picks as he will defend his title against Brandon Moreno. Leon Edwards is the overwhelming -450 chalk in UFC betting in a welterweight bout against former champion Nate Diaz.

Adesanya was also the -250 betting choice in the UFC odds in his first meeting with Vettori. The UFC 263 picks will mark just the third time in 11 bouts that Vettori is the underdog. He's 0-2 fighting as an underdog, though. 

As a middleweight, Adesanya is 20-0 with 15 knockouts. At 6-foot-4 with an 80-inch reach, The Last Stylebender is a handful for all fighters in this weight class. His grappling ability might not be on par with his striking and kicking talents, but Adesanya has worked to improve that element of his game.

Vettori, the No. 3 middleweight contender, scored 11 takedowns of Kevin Holland in his most recent victory. The Italian hasn't lost a middleweight bout since being defeated by Adesanya. A southpaw, he can match Adesanya is the striking ability and is the better grappler. There's real potential here for an upset in the UFC 263 Vegas odds.

Deiveson Figueiredo (20-1-1) vs Brandon Moreno (18-5-2)

In another rematch, these two fought to a majority draw at UFC 256. In the first bout, Figueiredo led 137-132 in strikes, but Moreno was more dominant in control time and takedowns.

Seven of Figueiredo's nine UFC victories were recorded via finish. Moreno is 4-0-1 over his past five fights. This one was epic the first time and should be every bit as action-filled the second time around.

Leon Edwards (18-3) vs Nate Diaz (21-12)

The No. 3 welterweight contender, Edwards has won his last eight decisions since a loss to division champ Kamaru Usman in 2015.

Veteran Diaz still talks a good game, but the numbers don't add up to victory in the UFC 263 odds. He's 1-2 in his last three fights and 4-5 over the past nine. And he's only been in the octagon twice since 2016.
