NFL Week 12: San Francisco 49ers Favourites to Beat Minnesota Vikings

Philadelphia Eagles @ New York Giants - 11/28 1:00pm ET

After deciding to run the ball more often and limiting the number of dropbacks for Jalen Hurts over the last month, the Eagles have managed to stumble across a winning formula on offense.

Against the New Orleans Saints last time out they managed to run 242 yards and score 40 points against one of the best run defenses in the league, meaning they will surely continue with that strategy going forward as they look to continue their great form.

The Giants are coming off a short week following their Monday Night Football fixture against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where they were well beaten 30-10. A shorter turnaround and an early kick-off is a recipe for a sluggish start from the home side and that should allow for the Eagles to potentially get a fast start.

The Eagles are 3-1 in their last four games and their only defeat was a narrow loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. The defense is starting to come together and with their run attack on fire now, all of those wins have been by double digits too.

The Giants aren't the best defensively when it comes to run offenses and Daniel Jones is unlikely to have the Eagles too worried with his passing game. They are 2-4 in their last six outings and the visitors just seem to have the momentum on their side in this game, so back the Eagles to cover the spread.

Neither team has been particularly explosive on offense this season but that is especially true of the New York Giants. Jones has struggled to set up these throws down-field because of the poor performances and as mentioned earlier, Hurts' passing is hardly something to fear.

It feels unlikely that both teams will be able to rack up more than 21 points and if anyone does, they're likely to be the winners in a scrappy game. Back the unders.

Minnesota Vikings @ San Francisco 49ers - 11/28 4:25pm ET

As 50/50 a game as there is in the NFL this weekend, the Vikings and the 49ers will both look to move to a positive record this season after huge wins during Week 11 last time out.

The Vikings earned a brilliant 34-31 win over the Green Bay Packers, while the 49ers secured a comfortable 30-10 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars for both sides to move to a 5-5 record for the season.

Home advantage could be a huge pendulum swing in San Francisco's favor here because both of these sides are likely to cause the other problems and the fans could be the difference-maker. Their offensive line should open up huge lanes in the running game while their defense will almost certainly apply pressure to Kirk Cousins throughout the game.

San Francisco have found their attacking rhythm in recent games, earning a 3-1 record with 30+ points scored in all of those wins thanks to an improved rushing attack and better decision-making from Jimmy Garoppolo. Defensively too they have been impressive, conceding just 10 points in each of their last two games.

With the offense playing well and the Vikings defense conceding 20+ points in each of their last five outings, expect the home side to be able to secure the victory with another high-scoring game.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cincinnati Bengals - 11/28 1:00pm ET

it's been a crazy season so far for the Steelers, summed up perfectly in their last three outings in the AFC North. They almost blew a double-digit lead against the Bears in week 9, tied with the Lions in week 10, and then nearly completed a memorable comeback in week 11 against the Chargers.

It's the second time these two sides will clash this season, with the Bengals earning a relatively comfortable 24-10 win at Heinz Field. Since then though, the Steelers have turned their season around and with more urgency and a better strategy, this should be a much closer game.

The Bengals bounced back from a thrashing by the Browns in week 9 to earn a big win against the Raiders in week 11, to move to 6-4 for the season and keep their playoff hopes very much alive.
