Los Angeles vs New York: Pitchers Duel on Tap When Dodgers Host Mets
Los Angeles leads NL West despite some stumbles
Not many teams were as streaky as the Dodgers in June. Los Angeles posted a level 15-15 record last month but their 45-36 overall mark still has them 3.5 games ahead of the San Francisco Giants in the National League West division. The Dodgers have turned it on some recently has they have won six of their last nine games. LA ace RHP Zack Greinke (6-2 ERA 1.58) gets the call here and he has not allowed a run over his last 20.2 innings pitched during his last three starts. Greinke is a flat out stud.
New York Mets: Looking to rebound after a swoon in late June
Entering June with a decent 28-23 record, New York was trailing Washington by just a half game in the NL East. Fast forward one month and, thanks largely to a 12-15 June swoon, the Mets are 41-40 and sit four games behind the Nationals. Despite posting a 2-1 win in the series opener last night, the Mets are on a 5-10 skid over their last 15 contests. After missing all of the 2014 MLB season with an elbow injury, RHP Matt Harvey (7-5 ERA 2.99) has been somewhat streaky for the Mets since his return.
Dodgers vs Mets MLB Prediction: Giving the Dodgers a slight edge in the battle on the bump, and at the plate, we like Los Angeles at home here. Back the NL West leading Dodgers with a 500 unit wager on the money line price posted on the betting board at the Bovada online sportsbook.
