Spain is one of the top international teams in the world. They have a proud history that is filled with recent successes. Spain is currently in a slight transition following a fantastic period of dominance which saw them win three major tournaments, Euro 2008, World Cup 2010, and Euro 2012, in a row. They are always ranked in the top 10 of FIFA world rankings and are a genuine contender for every major championship. Their only recent blip occurred in World Cup 2014, where Spain was unexpectedly eliminated in the first round.

Spain has won the European Championships three times, once back in 1964 and, as mentioned above, in 2008 and 2012. [+]

How To Win At Spain Football Team Betting

Spain utilizes a fluid, possession style of play that seeks to tire the opposition with skillful and intricate passing played at a high tempo. It is used by Spanish giants Barcelona to great effect.

Spain’s fundamental strength and experience start at the back. David de Gea, their legendary goalkeeper, is holding things up between the posts. De Gea played most of his 45 international caps, with Sergio Ramos and Gerard Pique protecting him in the center of defence. The two central defenders have a combined 200 international caps between them. But, things have changed, with many top younger players emerging.

Spain has qualified for the 2022 World Cup, though recent results have left much less desired. They drew against both Portugal and Croatia in recent weeks. However, based on their performances over the last two years, they're looking like one of the top sides going into the Qatar World Cup.

Spain has a vastly experienced midfield, which includes players Thiago, David Silva, Sergio Busquets, and Koke, whom have hundreds of caps between them. If the players above are unavailable, Ascensio, Isco, Pedri, and Rodri offer skillful alternatives, further emboldening the depth Spain has at its disposal. Weaker teams will struggle with the creativity and skill of Spain’s midfield.

Spain has a lot to prove upfront. Mikel Oyarzabal and Ferran Torres are part of a new generation of players who possess sensational talent but lack experience. Alvaro Morata may offer you some value in first goal-scorer betting but look for the odds on David Silva and even defender Sergio Ramos, who has ten international goals despite his starting position.

Depending on the strength of Spain’s opponents, you may find value in the under 2.5 goals market. Spain has good attackers, but, at least on paper, nobody in their lineup that compares to the old guard of Raul or Morientes.
