With great players spread throughout their squad and starting line-up, Belgian football fans have never had it so good. Belgium reached an all-time best FIFA ranking in May 2016, at 2nd on the charts. They look set to gatecrash the party and establish themselves as one of the world’s best football teams. Belgium showed brilliance by reaching the semi-finals of World Cup 2018, where they took advantage of playing in an easy group but eventually lost out to the tournament winner France.

Following that, in 2020, Belgium fell short of its dreams by losing out to Italy in the quarterfinals. [+]

Since 1984 Belgium have only managed to reached Euro Cup finals on one occasion, way back in 2000. They were eliminated early in that tournament and failed to reach the game in any subsequent European championships until 2016, where they qualified as Group B winners ahead of Wales.

How To Win At Belgium Football Team Bets

The bookies find it difficult to price Belgium matches. They cannot make Belgium heavy favorites against a team like Spain or Germany because it would mean accepting large bets on those teams. However, to offer Belgium at attractive odds could expose them too. Study the outright betting odds because you might find some value from the onset.

While deserving great praise for climbing the FIFA rankings, Belgium is yet to be tested enough to truly be considered the second-best team in the world. Can they upset the biggest and best in the world? The jury, in our opinion, is still out.

Belgium’s squad contains several excellent players. Thibault Courtois is still young and is already considered one of the world’s best goalkeepers.

Defenders Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen are quality center-backs. The defense also boasts some great wingbacks, but it's certainly not the most solid part of the Belgian squad.

Midfielders Kevin De Bruyne and Axel Witsel are proven players at the highest level and complement nicely strikers Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku and Christian Benteke. They are options any team would be pleased to have at their disposal. De Bruyne has established himself as one of the very best players in the world, commanding the Premier League under Pep Guardiola's management at Manchester City.

On the periphery of the squad are players like Thorgen Hazard, Youri Tielemans and Nacer Chadli, all of whom consistently fight hard for their place in a star-studded lineup.

Eden Hazard, even though he endured a miserable season at Real Madrid, has star potential but has the potential to spearhead Belgium to glory.
