It's hard to imagine, but the end of the National Football League season is almost here. There's just one game left on the docket, with Seattle and New England all set to play with the Lombardi Trophy on the line. Who's going to capture the ultimate glory? It should be a close meeting, but the Seahawks are our pick to win the 2026 Super Bowl. That shouldn't come as a major surprise to many people.
Thus far in the postseason, the NFC West side has look brilliant. After a first-round BYE in the Wild Card Round, the Seahawks took down the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round. Then after that, Seattle pulled off a thrilling win against the Rams, with quarterback Sam Darnold continuing to do his part in silencing the haters. Coach Mike Macdonald loved seeing it.
| Super Bowl odds | |||
|---|---|---|---|
| Seahawks to win | -110 | -110 | -110 |
| Patriots to win | +125 | +125 | +125 |
| Over 45.5 points | -110 | -110 | -110 |
| Under 45.5 points | -110 | -110 | -110 |
"Every time they went and scored, he (Darnold) came back," Macdonald said in a recent interview. "Made some big-time throws on third down, the two-minute drive, the four-minute drive. The guy barely practiced all week. Just really happy for him. He deserves it. He's been a rock for us the whole year. Just really happy for him."
According to the best online sports betting sites, the Seahawks have been given -110 NFL betting odds to win. As for the Rams, the top Super Bowl betting sites are giving them +125 NFL Vegas betting odds to post an upset win. Drake Maye and Co. are going to be motivated to pull off an upset, but we don't see it happening. Look for Seattle to win its second Super Bowl in its history.
New: Mike Macdonald is on the verge of making history as the 1st HC to call defensive plays for a Super Bowl champion
Macdonald's play calling & his connection to the players give the #Seahawks an edge every week. On Sunday, it could make them champions. https://t.co/xzUkrsTzTQ pic.twitter.com/oPzF4G5LJD

Sam Darnold and Drake Maye hold the best Super Bowl MVP odds
In terms of individual awards, Sam Darnold and Drake Maye hold the best Super Bowl MVP odds. Obviously, it's going to come down to which team posts the victory. Darnold has been throwing the ball all over the field, while Maye is living up to his first-round pick hype too. In the AFC Championship Game, the New England offense was sloppy, but the weather played a big impact on things.
Throughout the season, Maye has looked more comfortable in running the offense, which could pay off big for him. However, the Seahawks defense, which has been stellar this season, is going to look to give Maye all kinds of fits on Sunday at Levi's Stadium. With the pass-rush looking so strong, Maye isn't going to have much time to scan the field.
Because of this, Maye is going to have to rely on the ground game to help him out. That's where TreVeyon Henderson and Rhamondre Stevenson will look to step up. As for Seattle, Darnold is loaded with plenty of offensive weapons to get the ball to, of course including former Ohio State wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba. JSN has been elite from start to finish this year.
With us expecting the Seahawks to win this game, we're going to give the advantage to Darnold in taking home the MVP honors. Per the Vegas oddsmakers, he has been given +115 to be named the Super Bowl MVP. We're going to predict for him to throw for 285 yards and two touchdowns en route to a Seattle victory over New England.
The fact Sam Darnold shows no bitterness towards any of the teams or people who dismissed and discarded him is a lesson on mental strength.
He doesn't give an inch when asked either. He says all those teams (4) that he played for were IMPORTANT for him to be who he is today. pic.twitter.com/UDQ1Udv1Sa

Look for Kenneth Walker II to be the first TD scorer in the Super Bowl
In terms of a prop bet, look for Kenneth Walker II to be the first TD scorer in the Super Bowl on Sunday against the Patriots. While the Seattle defense is led by the aerial attack, Walker has been fantastic running the ball during the playoffs and he's going to be getting a ton of carries against New England in this one. He's going to want to make a splash too.
While the New England defense has been stingy, you've also got to give credit to the Seattle offensive line. The group up front has been doing a fantastic job of opening up holes for Seattle running backs and Walker has been quick to take advantage of things. He's going to want to do more of the same vs. the Pats with the Lombardi Trophy on the line.
Entering this matchup, Walker has been given +850 betting odds to score the first touchdown at the Super Bowl. While we won't be surprised to see Darnold throw a touchdown pass to get things going, we have a feeling Walker will be the early workhorse for Seattle. We're indeed picking him to score the first TD.
