Johnnie Morton, who spent 12 years in the NFL as a receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs, Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers, thought his professional football career could translate to the octagon as a mixed martial arts fighter.
He was wrong.
The then-35-year-old was knocked out 38 seconds into his sparring against Bernard Ackah, his first-ever opponent. To make matters worse, he was then suspended by California State Athletic Commission after refusing to provide a urine sample for a drug test after the fact.
