With the 2016-17 NBA regular season getting set to tip off, there’s no better time than to review some of the worst teams in league history.
Each of these 10 squads were objectively selected using the era-adjusted stats metric from NBAMath.com. This site allows us to make cross-era comparisons by measuring a team’s performance on both sides of the ball versus the Association’s average showing during that season, generating a score for both the offense and defense.
These two scores are then averaged together to come up with an Adjusted Team Rating. The lower this number, the worse a team is. These 10 contingents have posted the lowest Adjusting Team Rating scores to date.
