How To Bet On Philadelphia Union

The Philadelphia Union have never won the MLS Cup, their most successful campaign in the last seven years seeing them lose in the conference semifinal in 2011. So there’s not a lot of success or historical pedigree to rely on. The Union played well in the first half of the 2016 season before imploding in the latter stage of the season. They held on to the final playoff position by the skin of their teeth, qualifying instead of New England because of a superior goal difference. They were, however, ousted by Toronto in the first round.

Philadelphia Union Betting Tips

Eight of Philadelphia’s 11 wins in 2016 came on home soil. It shows how terrible their away form was. It’s a similar trend in the MLS, where most teams perform quite well on home soil but completely lose the plot on their travels.

It’s something the Union need to address, so they maintain a playoff spot in 2017. They were almost pipped by New England, whose final surge left them level on points with Philadelphia at season’s end. The Union secured passage to the playoffs by way of a better goal differential. Philadelphia won’t want to leave it to the last day of the season again. Antoher one or two wins on the road will secure another postseason berth.

Philadelphia scored three fewer goals than they allowed in 2016, which is another disconcerning issue. They finished mid-table in the Eastern Conference in both categories, so conducting a more thorough analytical investigation is required when determining whether an over or under bet is on the cards.

Looking into Philadelphia’s recent form is an easy way to make sure you’re on the right betting track. Take a look at their last five overall games, while taking into account the location of the next game. It’s always beneficial to find as many trends as possible before locking in
