How To Bet On The Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans, formerly known as the Houston Oilers, and for two years the Tennessee Oilers, are an AFC South division team in the National Football League. The Titans enjoyed their most memorable year in 1999, finishing with a 13-3 record, only one game behind the Jacksonville Jaguars for the AFC Central title. The Titans progressed to the Super Bowl, but lost to the St. Louis Rams 23-16 when Kevin Dyson was tackled a mere yard short of the end zone as regulation time expired. [+]

The last time the Titans made it to the playoffs was back in 2008 after finishing with another 13-3 record. With the exception of 2011, this was the last time the Titans enjoyed a winning season, with 2014 seeing them go 2-14, the joint worst record in the franchise’s history.

Fast forward to 2015 and the Titans endured another torrid season, finishing bottom of AFC South with a 3-13 record. The long suffering Titans fans will be hoping for a much better showing this coming season.

And it should be because the Titans have managed to acquired six of the top 76 in the draft, so should have a wealth of young talent to choose from when the 2016-17 season kicks off.

The Titans need Jurrell Casey to return back to his best form. The Defensive Tackle was arguably the Titans player in 2015, despite it not being a stellar year for him. Casey made 54 combined tackles, and made seven sacks, which may be why he was rewarded with a new contract in offseason.

How To Win Tennessee Titans Bets

Part of the reason for the Titans’ shortcomings is its poor offense, which was ranked bottom of the entire AFC with only 4,988 net total yards.

Passing yards were the second worst in the AFC with 3,503, while rushing yardage was in the bottom five with only 1,486. All this added up to a mere 18.7 points per game; only the lowly Cleveland Browns fared worse.

On the defensive side of the team, the Titans performed better, finishing eighth from the 16 AFC teams. They did however allow the second most points with 423 for an average of 26.4 points per game, showing the Titans are often part of high-scoring games.
